The International Gymnastics Federation (or FIG, the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique), which represents 165 member-federations worldwide, has rebranded as World Gymnastics. From the organization’s website: “In addition to [the new] name and brand identity, World Gymnastics will unveil eight distinctive discipline brands, each purpose-built to elevate the identity, visibility and growth of the sport’s diverse disciplines[…] Gymnastics for All, Men’s Artistic, Women’s Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampoline & Tumbling, Acrobatics, Aerobics and Parkour.”
The new logo maintains the globe shape from the previous mark, but the rest of the design is much more energetic. It contains elements that are easily connected with gymnastics—a tumbling character, floor mats, streaming ribbon, and vibrant color—but more broadly, movement, balance, and strength are evident. The path that forms the globe shape circles back on itself, representing connections among athletes.
