The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority (SFMTA) oversees transit, streets, and taxis—basically all ground transportation—in San Francisco. The Muni system has introduced a new logo inspired by the city’s well-loved “worm” logo, created by Walter Landor in 1977 and so representative of the funky, hilly city the authority serves.

The new logo brings together the two primary elements of the agency: Muni and the former Department of Parking and Traffic. Landor’s worm logo will still be used throughout the system.
