The Partners has created a new identity for the International Aids Society, which is the world’s largest association of HIV professionals. The group found itself in need of more visibility as medical advances, though beneficial, have created a public sense that the disease has lost its urgency.
The Partners’ design focused on human rights initiatives as well as scientific progress. By sharing personal stories and relating how social prejudice and apathy have now joined the disease as powerful allies, the design communicates that the fight is ongoing and pertinent to all people.
The main components of the design are the color red, squares, simple black-and-white art that incorporates squares, and a patterning system based on the HIV awareness ribbon.
