Like all park systems, the properties offer many disparate opportunities: recreation or relaxation, opportunities to gather with friends or enjoy absolute solitude, chances to study history or make new discoveries. Visitors can come out for a quick run or an extended camping trip. They might attend a single ranger program or host a family wedding celebration.
The Commission wanted a new identity that was more inclusive and welcomed everyone, from experienced outdoor enthusiasts to first-time visitors. The new identity also needed to exhibit the wide range of opportunities that the parks offer.
The new logo, created by People People, brings together geographic aspects from all over Washington in the form of a shield or patch. The shape works well since the logo will most frequently be seen by visitors as shoulder patches on employees’ shirts.
