The Tulsa Historical Society & Museum has been renamed the Museum of Tulsa History with the goal of signaling that the organization belongs to everyone, from children to serious researchers, as well as people of all backgrounds and origins.

With the name change comes a new logo. The previous logo, a monogram, referred more to the Society than about Tulsa itself. The new logo is much more specific: its art deco flavor is a nod to the architecture of the museum building. Each color used in the logo has specific meaning. From the museum website: “[The] color palette… tells our story—the turquoise of our Native community, the red dirt of Oklahoma, the dark hue of our oil, and the ‘stay gold’ of our sunsets.”
