DesignStudio has created a new identity for ArtFinder, an online art marketplace, which is based on the bright red dot that is commonly used in a brick-and-mortar gallery to note that a piece of art has been sold.
The dot bounces all over ArtFinder’s graphics, creating a sense of excitement and curiosity: where will it show up next? What will it do? The dot grows and shrinks in size, overlaps words and art, serves as art itself, and animates and morphs into new but still bright red shapes. Its omnipresent nature is contrasted by the new ArtFinder wordmark, which is missing the dot over the “i” in its name. The friendly, energetic personality of the dot and the new identity takes on the traditional art world, which can feel stuffy and not approachable to all art lovers.
