Christian Baun has worked as a professional graphic designer and Creative Director for more than 30 years.
Christian is one of the graphic designers who has designed the most logos in Scandinavia (300+ logos for companies and products). He has won numerous awards and is himself a permanent jury member in awards given each year in countries such as Germany, England, Italy, Taiwan and Iran.
Christian: I find it incredibly inspiring and instructive to be a jury member. I always do my best, and I try to judge based on keywords such as: Idea, originality, relevance and craft.
When I design a logo or an identity, I consider every single design task as a chance to show my ultimate. In this context, the size of the company means nothing to me, whether it is B2B or B2C. I work on the basis of the companys value proposition and relevant keywords, which often are defined together with the client.
I will continue to work as a graphic designer and jury member for the rest of my life - because I love my job.
My aim is to design a logo that represents a relevant and original idea that mirrors the values and strategy of the company / product. Thats why idea development is the most resource-intensive part of designing a logo for me. Every logo you see on my website is designed by me. All the logos have been implemented in the respective companies.
A logo design should be long-lasting. Some of the logos you see on my website were designed more than 28 years ago. And they still last.
When you ask me to design your logo, I guarantee you two things:
I give you a firm offer but I never finish a job unless you are absolutely satisfied.
None of my customers have been rejected trademark registration at the Patent Office.
I do not think that its necessary for a company to invest in both a logo design and a design manual. But it may give you a better overview to develop your visual identity together with your logo.
A strong logodesign makes your company more visible and recognizable and creates sympathy credibility for your company.
