The logo of the United States Environmental Protection Agency is under fire by politicians, and not for the first time. Created by Chermayeff & Geismar in 1977, the EPA logo is not popular with the current administration.

Current EPA administrator Scott Pruitt says the designs looks like a marijuana leaf. He has suggested some new designs for the agency seal and souvenir coin, which reporters Lisa Friedman and Kenneth Vogel shared in a New York Times article.

“Mr. Pruitt instead wanted the coin to feature some combination of symbols more reflective of himself and the Trump administration. Among the possibilities: a buffalo, to evoke Mr. Pruitt’s native Oklahoma, and a Bible verse to reflect his faith.”
