The New Apple Rainbow

An updated version of the rainbow-striped logo that first signified Apple to the world was glimpsed at the new iPad launch earlier this month.

I like it. With the passing of Steve, this harkens back to the old logo and is a subtle way of saying that Apple is still Apple.

All the rationale is there. A perfect evolution. Back to colorful. Back to flat. But I'm going to have to see it a thousand more times in order to stop seeing that harsh line dividing the warm from the cool colors. I like the horizontal curve in the lower third, but some funniness is happening right at the center, just above the horizontal and just to the left of the vertical that makes it a bit awkward. Muddy. I'd love to see all the versions they printed and laid out in the hallway, as big fat agencies do with something like this.

I have the same uncomfortable feelings as Jeff's. A bit more work is required to harmonise the center of the image.

This is dopey. This is not their actual new logo and I doubt you will see it anywhere else. Apple has a history of one-off "special" logo treatments for events, etc. and this is all this is. The corny "back to the future" graphic, though sort of half-assedly made to LOOK like something official from Apple, seems to have been drummed up by this computerarts.co.uk site. Nothing to see here AT ALL

Seems like we're looking at the Windows logo through the Apple's glass. I know the colors are in a different order, but it's the first feeling I get.

This is not the new logo. This was used for limited effect. The logo on products remains the same as it has been. Misleading article.
