Rebrand for Motion

Kildemoes is a heritage bicycle brand in Denmark, a country that truly supports cycling for both recreation and transportation. But its branding had become overly complex, somewhat hard to read, and certainly not relevant to clean Danish design. The company looked to Everland for guidance and an update.

Everland built on shapes found in the bike’s frame and handlebars in the new branding. The letterforms in the wordmark have a tubular style that mimics a bike’s construction. The parent wordmark is supported by three sub-brands for the three ranges of bike that the company produces.

• A stylized K icon bracketed by 19 and 42—the year of the company’s founding—represents the Kildemoes classic DNA line.

• The Kido range, built for children, uses the K icon bracketed by 2 simple dashes.

• The company’s performance range logo is built from the K icon surrounded by arrows that indicate motion. This mark, when repeated, forms a bold tire track.
