• The term “personal branding” is not new, but social media, the work-from-anywhere model, and the Gen Z generation have given it a new spin and possibilities. Created by management guru Tom Peters 25 years ago, Peters defines it on his blog: “A personal brand is your promise to the marketplace and the world. Since everyone makes a promise to the world, one does not have a choice of having or not having a personal brand. Everyone has one. The real question is whether someone’s personal brand is powerful enough to be meaningful to the person and the marketplace.”

This Forbes  article examines why this concept is still relevant and how it can improve a company’s performance as well as the employee’s experience.
