Lella Vignelli, life and design partner of the late Massimo Vignelli, died on December 22, 2016, in Manhattan.
Through their firm, Vignelli Associates, the couple was creating breakthrough brand stories for companies long before the actual notion of branding was named or even formally recognized. They set the visual and corporate DNA for such clients as American Airlines, Bloomingdales, the Guggenheim Museum, Knoll International, and Xerox.
