Read about Ben Kocinski's creative process on helping a tattoo parlor stand out from the typical tattoo parlor stereotype.
Think about a tattoo parlor. Most people see the roses, the script lettering, skulls, and knives. White Oak didn't want to have that aesthetic. And thanks to Ben Kocinski, they didn't have to! The case study in LogoLounge 11, further explains his process in creating multiple logos for a tattoo parlor that wanted to stand out from all the others.
The name of the tattoo parlor is White Oak Tattoo Co. The name "White Oak" comes from a Celtic tale of an Oak King. Therefore, they wanted to have a crown and raven included in each design. The second challenge was to have no only one logo, but multiple, that could all work together as a visual language for White Oak.
White Oak and Kocinsky had a good time working together and the whole process went smoothly. Both were able to incorporate aspects they both really liked into the final pieces.
Kocinski was excited to see the designs "live together as well as apart."
Kocinski was happy with the finished product and so what White Oak Tattoo Co., which makes for a very happy ending.
