• The Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin (Berlin City Museum Foundation) is a public law foundation created in 1995 that serves as the official state museum for the culture and history of Berlin. It unites multiple historic venues that house over 4.5 million objects spanning fine art, photography, everyday items, and historical documents, all meant to preserve and showcase the capital’s rich heritage.
But despite its cultural significance, many citizens did not know what the foundation is or where its locations were. Learn how design agency Stan Hema created a parent brand for the organization that simultaneously identified its components.

• The Metal Museum in Memphis, Tennessee, is the only institution in the United States dedicated exclusively to the art and craft of fine metalwork. It has a permanent collection of more than 3,000 metal objects, plus a working blacksmith shop and foundry. Founded in 1979, its original logo said little about the museum’s core interest.
The organization just released a new identity that speaks of metalwork’s heritage, the nature of metal as a material, and the museum’s forward-looking goals, all built into the shape of a monogram “M.”
