Giving each department a bespoke logo was important because each is a powerhouse unto itself. Together they form a school that is “home to 14 Nobel laureates and 20,000 students from 130 countries… [it is] a powerhouse of science, engineering and medicine [which] drives innovation through £1.1 billion in research income and partnerships with 500+ global companies,” according to The Click website.

The designers developed an expandable “Creative I” sub-brand. Each department’s “I” is formed with patterning that distinctly identifies its field of study. Those patterns can be played out in larger form in backgrounds, image frames, merchandise, and animations.
