• Coca-Cola is releasing a brand refresh that reemphasizes its Dynamic Ribbon, an identity element created in 1969 which was meant to imply a refreshing pour. The new branding uses the “Coke font” more broadly in text and headline applications, and it also adds touches orange, yellow, and green to represent orange, lemon, and lime variants.
The new branding is meant to create and maintain greater identity consistency across its 200+ markets.

• When British bakeries Hovis, Kingsmill, Allinson’s and Sunblest were combined under one brand—Hovis Bakeries—and one strapline—“nourishing the nation”—BrandOpus was brought in to create a distinctly new identity.
Rejecting bakery tropes like wheat or sunrises, BrandOpus designers instead created a new logo that represented the four elements that come together to create bread: earth, which produces the flour; water, which is used for the dough; air, which creates the rise in a baked product; and fire, which represents the heat of an oven. The assembled elements also can easily represent the four partners coming together under the Hovis Bakeries name.
