• Home Box Office, or HBO, was founded in 1972. Then there was HBO Go and HBO Now, both of which were eventually rolled into HBO Max. But in 2023, the company became just Max, a puzzling separation from the parent name. But now, in a whipsaw-like switch, the HBO Max name is back. The CEO, wryly commenting on the latest rebrand, quipped, “The good news is I have a drawer full of stationery from the last round,” he said. “So I’m all set.”

• Without fanfare, Google has revamped its color-blocked G logo by merging each color into a continuous gradient. It’s the first change to the logo in a decade. The gradient mimics a similar effect used on the wordmark for Google’s AI assistant, Gemini.

• The Learning Nest, an early childhood school in Toronto, has been rebranded by design firm Good&Ready. The plan is based on the images of three little birds, built from simple shapes, each meant to represent a different age and developmental stage.
