• Otherwhere Collective has created what it calls the world’s first kinetic visual identity system, packaged as a font file. With Emblème, all aspects of a brand system can be delivered as a single file.
From the product’s website: “Emblème is a variable font that’s more than a set of letterforms. It’s a full eco-system where typography, color, motion, and branding merge seamlessly into a singular tool for brand expression.”

• The Louis Armstrong New Orleans Airport has a new logo that contains nods to several aspects of the airport and home city. The “Plane de lis” clearly suggests both an airplane and a fleur-de-lis, a familiar city symbol. The outside edges of the logo resemble two jets of water shooting upward, referencing the Mississippi River. Also, the negative space inside the logo mimics the crisscrossing beams on the airport’s ceiling.
