• Pentagram has created an identity for Sister—short for Special Institutions for Scientific and Technological Education and Research—a huge innovation district in Manchester. The logotype’s custom typography was sparked by early code-breaking machines and computer science, both born in Manchester. The wavy line in the logo symbolizes the district’s malleable boundaries and the connections that can be made through science.

• Pienso is a company that is working to build a bridge between people and AI. Its founders build platforms that allow users—a.k.a., human-based knowledge—to deploy AI without having to write code. Pentagram was brought in to create a brand identity for the organization.
From a Creative Boom article: “The [Pentagram] team created a stripped-back identity that makes Pienso’s features easy to grasp through striking, colorful elements that engage the audience and communicate the learning-through-play nature of Pienso’s product. Pienso’s user-friendly features are represented as simple geometric blocks in vibrant brand colors. These blocks can be displayed in a variety of combinations, highlighting their interchangeable, modular nature.”
