• The identity for the Alpes 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games has been released. The plan’s mountain-like logo describes the Alpine setting for the games, but as abstract art, it also suggests speed, extreme challenge, the descent of a skier, or the ascent of the athletic spirit.

The Alpes 2030 Olympic president Edgar Grospiron—an Olympic champion himself—selected the final mark from a field of more literal designs. “More than a mountain, the symbol seeks to express a trajectory, a shared aspiration toward a summit,” he says.

• LIVE·TEAM has created a new global identity for ParalympicsGB, the official name for the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Paralympic team. For the present, the new identity is meant to increase the public’s awareness of British athletes as they prepare for and perform at the 2028 Olympics. In the future, the new logo and brand colors will represent the organization as it continues to advocate for social change.

The central logo, a bold lion whose mane mimics the Olympic flame, can be taken apart into many disparate shapes that can be used in backgrounds, frames, and patterning. The new plan even includes a new typeface designed for greater legibility for everyone, including people with low vision.
