For the first time in 24 years, the San Francisco International Airport has changed its logo. Airport management says it worked with local design agencies on the project.
The new design retains blue as the primary brand color, but the hue has been brightened to what is now called “SFO Golden Hour Blue.” The path made from the S into the crossbar of the F represents flight and travel, while the solid O presents a portal into a blue sky. The solid O will also be used as a graphic shape in the new identity.
From an airport press release: “The new logo allows for flexibility in creating special-themed logos utilizing the “O,” to reflect the essence of the people and projects that make us who we are.”
