Investment bank Goldman Sachs retired its very familiar logo in 2020. In that design, the G and S were connected into a single ligature. The 2020 redesign removed the join to create a much less distinctive and ownable design. Now the ligature is back, simultaneously referencing the company’s history as well as its focus on partnership.

Goldman Sachs Sans is a customized font that was created as part of the new plan. Text-dense communications with customers are a regular part of the company’s business: with six roman weights, three italic weights, and two condensed dates, the font was designed with increased readability in mind.
