In September 2023, the Biden-Harris administration launched the American Climate Corps, a workforce training and service organization built to give young people skills-based training that can be used to work in the clean energy and climate resilience economy. From a press release issued at that time, “This initiative aims to employ over 20,000 Americans on projects involving land and water conservation and restoration, community resilience, clean energy and energy efficient technologies, and environmental justice.”
The wordmark that was released at that time was evidently a placeholder, as a new but already classic-feeling logo has just been introduced, created by LoyalKaspar.
The LoyalKaspar team began its work by studying the logo of the Civilian Conservation Corps, created in 1933. That logo, which had many variations, always had at least one tall, ascending pine as part of its design. The CCC logo has, over time, become emblematic of the amazing teamwork of US citizens to improve their country, even though it is in no way a traditional red, white, and blue identity.
Loyal Kaspar’s design for the American Climate Corps also uses a pine tree as its core image. It is built from ascending triangles that suggest growth and upward movement. There’s also a hint of a capital letter A. The base beneath the tree could be solid land, marshland, or water. On both sides of the new badge logo are two tiny windmills.
