Design firm People People gave a once-food-truck, now-brick-and-mortar-restaurant its first identity. The restaurant, Layers, is across the street from Seattle’s Green Lake Park. People People built on the value of the location by tapping into the “nostalgia and carefree feeling that people associate with lakes during the summer” in the new identity.

By combining such attributes as nostalgic line drawings, a sans serif face developed years ago by the United States Federal Highway Administration, and a single-color screen-print theme, PP designers created an identity redolent of summer fun in days gone by.
