Rumble, an Australian sound and music studio, worked with design firm Bear Meets Eagle On Fire, to build a new identity on the strapline, “Sound is story.” The concept was especially fruitful for a new brand as it immediately suggests pictures, which also tell stories.
BMEOF designers set the name of the client in blocky caps, then created “mini-soundscape stories”—essentially, square illustrations—that could stand in for each letter of Rumble. Each letter has four different “stories” which can be placed and replaced alone or in combination with other illustrations to create thousands of possible logos.
For a client that is focused on storytelling through sound, having the capability to create a bespoke logo that matches any story that sound can create is a real boon.
“The idea would be to match the version that reflects the overarching emotion of the project or intended response to our work,” explains executive creative director Michael Gie.
