GE is on track to break into three separate companies in the next several years: GE Healthcare will split off in 2023, GE Vernova will launch in 2024, leaving GE Aviation at the sole remaining sister. Vernova—a mash-up of “verde” (Spanish for green) and “verdant” with the Latin “novus” for “new”—will be focused on energy and power.

All three companies will continue to use the familiar GE monogram logo, but each will use a different color: healthcare will be purple, the energy group will use green, and aviation will continue to implement blue, albeit a different hue than the original GE blue. The first two companies will pay licensing fees to GE Aerospace, which will own rights to the GE trademark.
