Insurance and financial investment company MassMutual has a new logo and identity system courtesy of Working Assembly, its first update since 2007. What was dubbed the “blue chip” logo has been replaced with a design of five white dots in the shape of an M.
A press release indicates that the new design is based around concepts such as clear, simple, transparency, and trustworthy—not horribly surprising for an insurance/investment company. Also from the release, the dots represent people coming together and celebrating “the gift of interdependence…. MassMutual wanted to reinforce the company’s vision and identity in a new, fresh and relatable way. The new brand recognizes that while the world celebrates independence, true happiness comes from our reliance on one another. It also seeks to inspire people to see themselves as part of something bigger and to Live Mutual. ”
