In a thoroughly mysterious move, Tribune Publishing has thrown away all of its brand equity and will now be known as “tronc, Inc.” (short for tribune online content, caps and lowercase intentional). The choice of name—which has a number of salacious urban slang translations—plus the selection of a font firmly connected to Nickelodeon is difficult to parse.
