Rose Bowl Logo Controversy

Claiming to have drawn the rose icon for the Tournament of the Roses in 1977, advertising designer and stained-glass artist David Bartholomew has been battling in California federal courts to be named and compensated as the true creator of the logo. The credit is given to Susan Karasic for designing the red-and-green rose emblem in 1981. Read more in this article in the Los Angeles Times: latimes.com

Looks pretty clearly copied. Probably got it from Logo Garden...

Fascinating story! Even in real practice its difficult to distinguish who did what in a large work groups. I think they should both just get credit. Clearly ideas/concepts were created in the same room.

You know, they probably used a photo reference of a rose that happened to be the exact same one. They both copied the same real rose!

Troy can make a joke, typically, like Trump, when caught red handed stealing then jokes can unfairly foregive the prosecution. Mr. Bory Chung seems to have read the L.A. Times story, written by a Culture Monster employee of the times, and of the Art Center, an alumni. The author of the times story doesnât explain how he wrote the story, probably paid by all, the defense lawyers, the Art Center, the Trusted Board and of course, USC and UCLA souvenirs merchants. 7 years ago borychung Fascinating story! Turns out, 2016 new discovery shows that the Art college, the Art College president, board of trustees, my teacher John Follis and Chuck Davidson all will secretly sell off student Visual Art Â©. And, although the Auto Design majors win money and careers, this time, they kept the design secret. Of all things, they are now caught stealing the L.A. Bicentennial Celebration campaign logo, by my teacher John Follis is 1979, as seen on the commemorative coin. John Follis and the Trustees would scheme to Â© and License the âRainbow-Angelâ graphic art, visual art, sculpture I created in the same 1977 class. Proof this time is easy to see because the Rainbow-Angel concept is seen in the 3D prism sculpture photographed with me, in the 1977 brochure..
