Opel joins Nissan and Toyota in flattening and simplifying its logo in 2020. Opel calls the redesign a “detox.” The changes are subtle but very effective. The brand’s flash or blitz element has been rebalanced and resized; its wordmark is respaced, and its letterforms have been removed from the simple circle enclosure. The brand’s new color, called Neon Open Yellow, is undeniably bold.
