Craft beers have become infamous for their quirky names, so much so that consumers can easily become overwhelmed by the never-ending stream. Brew By Numbers, with the help of Pentagram, has taken a very different approach.
BBNO's new identity is built on the numbers—not nicknames—that the South East London brewery uses to identify each beer. With 330 different beers to date, this plan had proven practical already. Pentagram's new brand identity is beautiful as well as memorable.
“Our approach is designed to make it easier for customers to recall the products,” explains Pentagram partner Marina Willer. “By accentuating the style of the beer over the brew numbers, the system will allow drinkers to latch on to the varieties they like, without removing the identity that makes Brew by Numbers so special.”
