Old vs. New Logo

HK Tramways has served Hong Kong for 113 years, and its trams are a very familiar sight to citizens, who affectionately call them “ding-dings.” With the help of the branding agency Stepworks, the company has a new identity with the catch phrase, “Catch a ride, catch a smile.”

New Tram

Central to the new identity is the smile that will be applied to the front of each of the trams. The core color is now green, indicating personal- and environmental-friendliness. It’s the first update for the company’s identity since 1974.
