WGBH is known around the world for such signature television programming as Nova, This Old House, and Antiques Roadshow. As of September 1, 2020, the organization’s new name and brand will be simply GBH to reflect that it has grown from being a TV broadcaster to a full content streaming service.
GBH originally referred to “Great Blue Hill,” where the station’s original transmitter was located. The original double-shadowed WGBH logo was designed by Chermayeff & Geismar in 1974, and it had been in service ever since.
The rebrand, which will include violet as its main brand color, was conducted inhouse and with the assistance of Boston design firm Minelli.
