Customers Spoke, Amazon Listened

Amazon’s new app icon, introduced just this past January, was not received well by all customers. To some, the serrated blue tape suggested a moustache that suggested the face of a certain Nazi menace. And once someone pointed out that resemblance to another person, it was impossible to see anything else.

So Amazon acted quickly: it removed the serration from and folded up a corner of the tape so the moustache suggestion is eliminated. In truth, the “revised” version may have been one among many explorations that was made before the original was released. But the quick response was remarkable.
