Chicago Fire Revisits History

By early 2021, Chicago Fire fans had made it clear that they did not appreciate the soccer team’s new logo, introduced in 2019 and dubbed the “fire crown.” The Florian cross used in the original logo had been completely discarded in the 2019 design, as had its distinct center C. The change from all red to all blue uniforms did not go over well. Some fans even thought the fire crown looked too much like a gang logo and refused to buy merch that carried the mark out of fear for their safety.

Just in time for the 2022 season is a completely new logo that respects the team’s history and the source of its name. A simplified Florian cross once again surrounds a stylized C with a star pulled from the Chicago flag at its center. The all-red kit will return in 2024.
